Public Disco Marks 10 Years with Free Two-Day Block Party on Granville Island

Vancouver's largest free outdoor underground electronic music event returns June 5 & 6 with the launch of an exclusive anniversary merch collection

Vancouver, B.C. — Public Disco will open its 2026 Summer Block Party series presented by Ole Cocktail Co. with a free, all-ages, two-day event at Lot 55 on Granville Island on Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6. The Block Party on Granville Island is among the largest free outdoor electronic music events in Vancouver, with over 10,000 attendees expected over the two days. Both days feature fully licensed pop-up bars, food trucks, kids’ activities, and go-go dancers. As part of Public Disco’s 10th anniversary season, the Block Party will also host the launch of the exclusive Public Disco 10 Year Merch Collection at the Public Disco Pop-Up Shop, open all weekend.

Friday, June 5 | 4-10pm: Latin Dance Music Curated by Brendocha

Friday’s programming spotlights Salsa, Dembow, Guaracha, and Latin electronic music styles, curated by Brendocha. The lineup features La Niña Kiwi (MTL), mCherry (MTL), Brendocha b2b Binky, SI HAY PERREO, and DJ Asukha. Salsa lessons will be offered during DJ Asukha’s set by Salseo, a queer-focused dance collective. Go-go dancers Dalirious & Kika will also perform.

Saturday, June 6 | 2-10pm: Disco and House Curated by 2flowers

Saturday’s programming explores the roots and ongoing legacy of disco and house music, curated by 2flowers. The lineup features Abasi, Afrooz, 2flowers, &Rea, CostaBesta, and Space Cadet. Go-go dancers Afro Queer Boi & Mx. Bukuru will perform throughout the day.

10th Anniversary Merch Collection

The Granville Island Block Party will serve as the launch event for the Public Disco 10 Year Merch Collection. The Public Disco Pop-Up Shop will be on-site both days, offering the first in-person access to limited-edition pieces.

"Granville Island holds a special place in Public Disco's history, and we couldn't imagine a better setting to open our 10th anniversary summer,” says Nickolas Collinet, Executive Director of Public Disco Society, “The programming across both days, including Friday's celebration of Latinx music and Saturday's journey through disco and house, represents the diversity and depth of our community. We invite all ages to come dance, socialize, and shop our 10 Year merch collection at the exclusive Public Disco Pop Up Shop over the two days.”

Venue, Food, and Accessibility

Kids’ programming by Pattern Nation includes a colouring station,face painting and sparkle station. Food trucks on site across both days include Romero’s Artisan and Los Elotes. Additional vendors on Friday include Mimi's Foccacia, Yo Bones BBQ, and Shameless Buns. Saturday will also feature Chai Wagon, Meet2Eat, and Nami Vietnamese.

Public Disco’s beer partner, Phillips Brewing, will offer a selection of their fan-favourite beers and non-alcoholic iOTA brand, as well as running an experiential Dinosour x Lee’s Donuts pop-up that features fun collaborative taste experiences, giveaways, sampling and more.

The Block Party takes place at Lot 55, 1494 Old Bridge St, Vancouver. The site is on flat concrete and is fully wheelchair accessible, with accessible washrooms available.
