Public Disco Expands 2025 PRIDE Block Party to Full City Block, Laneway and Multiple Parking Lots in Mount Pleasant
For immediate release: July 22, 2025
Vancouver, B.C. – Public Disco’s annual PRIDE Block Party is expanding to a full city block, laneway, and multiple parking lots at West 3rd & Ontario on Saturday, August 2. The open-air, all-day party showcases queer dance music from headliners Jason Kendig and DJ Hermano, plus local DJs from 4:00–11:30pm. The 19+ ticketed event will be held in unconventional urban spaces that will be transformed into a vibrant event venue featuring a shaded dance floor, lounge seating, food trucks, laneway murals, and increased capacity. The event is part of Vancouver Pride Society's official 2025 programming and is already over 75% sold out.
"We’re incredibly proud to expand our PRIDE Block Party into one of the largest grassroots queer celebrations in the city," says Nickolas Collinet, Executive Director of Public Disco Society. "This year’s expanded footprint is a testament to the 2SLGBTQAI+ community’s energy, creativity, and resilience. We’re excited to welcome everyone back to dance, connect, and celebrate together in an urban setting unique to Vancouver."
At its core, Public Disco creates spaces where dance music and freedom of expression intersect. This year’s expanded PRIDE Block Party is curated by local DJ and community connector Nancy Dru, offering a lineup that spans disco, house, techno, acid, R&B, and global bass. Headliners include Jason Kendig (NYC) and DJ Hermano (BRA/MTL), as well as a mix of local DJs including Fisher Bryce, AWood, Afrooz, Lionessa, Riki Rocket, Jesse Walker, and Jenny Lea. The event will feature two distinct stages: the Fizz Mobile Stage and a new Lounge Stage. Adding to the atmosphere, gogo dancers from Vancouver’s kiki Ballroom Scene will perform throughout the day.
"The Vancouver Pride Society is excited to once again partner with Public Disco as part of our official 2025 programming," says Aidan Bancroft, Co-Chair of Vancouver Pride Society. "This year’s expanded block party reflects the vibrancy, diversity, and joyful spirit of Vancouver’s 2SLGBTQAI+ community. Together, we’re creating spaces where everyone can feel safe, seen, and celebrated."
The Public Disco PRIDE Block Party invites attendees to dress to express and celebrate Pride 2025 in vibrant style. The event will be fully licensed, offering both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages at the Public Disco bar sponsored by 604Now and Dinosour bar by Phillips Brewing. It will also feature an expanded lineup of local food trucks, including Los Elotes, The Mad Greek, Burgerholic, Aymamacita, and Mom’s Grilled Cheese Truck.
The block party is designed with accessibility and comfort in mind, with a flat concrete site, wheelchair-accessible washrooms, shaded social spaces, picnic tables, and quiet areas for breaks. Good Night Out will be on-site providing harm reduction services to help ensure a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all attendees.
Tier 2 tickets are on sale now for $42 plus fees. Tickets for the event are over 75% sold out.
